The Bay Area Kayak Polo Club (also known as the Golden Gate Breakers) was founded in the 90's by Tim Johnson, who brought the sport over from the UK.
They are a non-profit organization committed to promoting the sport of Kayak Polo in the Bay Area. Their club is comprised of several dozen members, all of whom bring a wide range of different social and cultural perspectives.
Their club consistently ranks among the top teams in North America. Several of their players are members of the USA National Kayak Polo Team.
